Orem Faculty Art Show being held at Wasatch Campus; Free Art Show Combines Works from Nationally Recognized Faculty Artists

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

HEBER, UT – The Utah Valley University Art and Visual Communications faculty will be exhibiting their work in a free exhibit at the UVU Wasatch Campus in Heber, UT. Works will be on display during school hours from January 17th to February 28th with an opening reception on Friday, January 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening. The public is invited to attend.
Visitors can expect a wide range of artistic works from traditional paintings, drawings, and prints to innovative digital pieces. Subject matter in each of the works varies from figurative, non-objective works to bold, graphic depictions.
Many of the artists and professors featured in the faculty art show have displayed their work at various locations across the nation. “It’s a chance for people to see the quality and diversity of work that [UVU] faculty create,” says department chair, Jim Godfrey.
This annual art show “allows the community and students to see just exactly who they’re learning from,” Godfrey explains. “It’s interesting to the students because we critique them all the time, so it’s nice for them to see how we approach our own work.”
Doors will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The UVU Wasatch Campus is located at 3111 College Way, Heber City, Utah.
