9/11 Tenth Anniversary Commemoration and Public Safety Expo
On Saturday September 10th, 2011 Public Safety personnel from around Utah, and the public will gather at the Utah Valley University Orem Campus for a commemoration of the 9/11 attacks and victims. We will also join with UVU Alumnae and the public to celebrate the contributions of first responders to the communities of Utah and the services and educational opportunities provided by UVU, including fire, EMS, police and ROTC programs.
An extensive exhibit of the equipment used by police, fire, and emergency medical services will spotlight the wide range of services and life saving technologies used to protect Utah communities. The event will be held from 9 am till noon with the 9/11 Commemoration at 10 am. Location is the lawn and parking lots M21 & M22 on the northeast side of campus. After the brief ceremony, families can interact with local first responders and receive information from them about keeping safe and being ready for emergencies.
