Baldomero Lago To Head UVU’s Efforts At Intercultural Studies Programs

Utah Valley University is pleased to announce that Baldomero Lago has been named senior director for UVU International & Multicultural Studies, housed under the university’s Center for Global & Intercultural Engagement.
Lago has served as chair of the Department of Languages and has been active in international study programs and dual immersion language training at UVU for the past seven years. With diplomas, licenses and certifications from Brigham Young University, Utah State University and Cambridge University, Lago provides a range of experience to advance the university’s efforts in global, intercultural and language education programs.
“The university has placed a premium on inclusive education, and Dr. Lago provides the critical experience and leadership to provide more opportunities for our students in these areas,” said Brian Birch, UVU associate vice president for academic affairs.
The Center for Global & Intercultural Engagement houses both academic and student service programs including International Affairs & Diplomacy, International & Multicultural Student Services, Study Abroad, and Multicultural Studies programs.
Lago will oversee the academic programming of the center, which includes study abroad, international internships, faculty training for global/intercultural graduation Requirement and multicultural studies projects.
