Utah Valley University will host a summer dodgeball tournament for 16- to 19-year-olds at Get Air Hang Time in Orem on Wednesday, June 26, from 9 p.m. to midnight. The tournament is free and individuals can register online independently or in teams of up to eight.
At Get Air Hang Time, participants will be surrounded by wall-to-wall trampolines, where they can test their dodgeball speed, agility and strategy in three dimensions.
Those not interested in dodging can dip, duck and dive in the spacious trampoline park’s 100-foot foam pit or the slam-dunk room — with four professional, ceiling-mounted basketball standards, complete with breakaway rims. Video cameras record player’s tricks and play them back to on flat screen TVs.
A first-place prize for the winning team of the dodgeball tournament will be presented at the end of the night. All skill levels are welcome, but participants must register online and sign a waiver on the facility’s website (getairhangtime.com) or at the facility.
“We just want the kids to come out and have fun and get excited about UVU,” said Trisha Nielson, a recruiter with Prospective Student Services, “and if they are graduated and haven’t made college plans, we want them to be able to get any questions they may have answered.”
Booths with information about applying to UVU, participating in Wolverine Weekends and attending High School Nights will be available during the tournament. Participants will also have access to photos from a professional photographer and an on-site photo booth via UVU’s Facebook page following the event.
Get Air Hang Time is located at 1340 Sandhill Road in Orem, Utah, on the south side of University Parkway (across from UVU).
