The Utah Valley University Department of Music is proud to announce the appointment of conductor Reed Criddle as the new Director of Choral Studies.

Criddle is a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan, School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and also has advanced degrees from Stanford University and the Eastman School of Music.

He will conduct both the select, mixed-voiced UVU Chamber Choir and the large, mixed-voice UVU Masterworks Chorale. Beginning this fall, the choral program will also offer a new UVU Women’s Choir, also conducted by Criddle.

All Utah Valley University students, especially non-music majors, are encouraged to audition for these ensembles during the first week of classes. To sign-up for an audition for fall semester, visit the Music Department office in the Gunter Trades Building, room 332, call (801) 864-8347 or visit www.uvu.edu/music.

I look forward to following the career of this brilliant young conductor! I had the pleasure of seeing his choirs in Michigan, and was excited to hear of his appointment at UVU. Mr. Criddle is sure to be a tremendous asset to the university.
