UVU Library: Check us out
Tony Jaskowick, circulation supervisor for the UVU Library
Did you know that the UVU Library has more than just books and movies for your use? It’s an often overlooked fact, but the library has many multimedia devices that are available to the general public — not just to the instructors or staff. (That means anyone with a UVU Library card.)
We have many items for general checkout — from our Flip video cameras to our MacBook Pros — and they are ready every day for use for our students and patrons. We have microphones, webcams, SD cards, portable DVD players, and even Laserdisc players.
Do you need to take a few quick pictures for a presentation? We have still-photo cameras, too. You may then display that beautifully blown-up image in your class using one of our easels. Or, perhaps your presentation requires a bit of video but your laptop screen is too small. Don’t worry — check out one of our LCD projectors and a screen (if you’d like) and show off your footage. We’ve also got viewing rooms with flat-panel TV’s on the second floor of the library.
The Library has a lot to offer, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our services; so bring your suggestions to us! You can view the growing list of media equipment available for checkout here.
All items are checked out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Check-out’s are four hours apiece. Please have your UVID ready, and don’t hesitate to ask us any questions you may have about the equipment. We’re here to enhance your college and work experience.
Our hours are:
Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-midnight
Saturday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
Note: Items are always due back at closing time, no matter what time they were checked out.

I agree wholeheartedly that the library has more than people realize. Librarians will even schedule a full library tour to explain all the things they have if there are classes who are interested. It is well worth it to visit!
